![]() wav files so ram was never an issue for me. ![]() But deadlines dont enter into my decision. I am a retired video editor who does this as a serious hobby. I was aware of the ability of Studio One to deactivate / activate tracks, but since I want to hear the other instruments so I create in context, that didnt seem to be a helpful way to deal with saving ram.īut today, when I discovered the neat ability to freeze and revert racks in Studio One to save ram, Im wondering if buying the Mac Studio would be silly. I then started to kick around the idea of getting the Mac Studio Max or Ultra (64 or 128GB memory). I had to do that because the initial full orchestra template I created with all instruments almost used up all my ram. Im on a M1 Mac Mini (16GB ram) and I m using the VSL Prime library in a scaled down form. I am a long time (68) rock / blues / jazz musician / mixer exploring doing more orchestral chamber music composing. I have a question for folks with more experience than I.
